FAMILY NEWSLETTER FROM VENTA CARE CENTRE

Dear valued Venta Care Residents and Families,

Venta Care Centre would like to begin by thanking you all for your support, collaboration, and patience during this outbreak. We are happy to share that we have officially been lifted from outbreak status as of yesterday February 22, 2022!

Due to the vulnerable resident population, we care for, it continues to be imperative that we proceed with caution, follow all outbreak prevention protocols, and go beyond public health measures.

We understand the importance spending time with your loved one has on their social, spiritual, and emotional wellbeing and have opened visitation seven (7) days a week from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Due to the increased transmissibility of Omicron, other virtual visitation options are encouraged and remain available to you. You may contact the Recreation Department at 780-377-4412 or by email at recreation@ventacarecentre.com to schedule a virtual phone or video call.

All visitors to Venta shall:

  • Complete a health screening upon entry. It is vital that you do not enter the facility if:

    o You are feeling unwell in any way, or
    o Have been a close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 10 days, or o On isolation for a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19

  • Be 14 years of age or older
  • Limit the number of visitors to two (2) at a time.
  • Strongly recommend be fully immunized
  • Practice continuous masking and follow all other PPE requirements as directed by staff
  • Perform hand hygiene when entering and exiting the site and entering or exiting the resident’s

    room.

    As you are all aware, Alberta is easing some of its health measures in a three-phased approach. Currently, this does not affect CMOH orders in place for facility living sites like Venta. It is essential that we continue to hear from you and include your voice in changes and decisions Venta makes when developing site- based policies and planning for the future.
