FAMILY UPDATE FROM VENTA CARE CENTRE

To our Residents and Family Members

At this time (letter sent) Venta Care Centre has 13 Residents that have tested positive for COVID-19 and 2 staff. The CDC has officially declared an outbreak on units 1000 and 1200.

Families with positive loved ones have been contacted by a Care Manager. If you are not contacted your loved one is not affected.

Please do not call the nursing station at this time to inquire as our team is working diligently to keep all Residents safe.

Asymptomatic and COVID negative Residents are not restricted from normal activities of daily living.
We have currently canceled high risk activities deemed by CDC such as singing and large group activities during
outbreak).

  • It is recommended that all previously scheduled Resident special events (e.g., special holiday meal
    celebrations, birthday parties, entertainers, school groups, community presentations) are
    cancelled/postponed effective immediately on all affected units/sites or entire facility (as applicable) until
    the outbreak is declared over.

Personal services (such as hair styling) are allowed to continue as a group activity for units not on outbreak –
personal service providers will be wearing a mask and face shield and asymptomatic Resident are also masked when possible.

Communal dining with social distancing is continuing on unaffected units in the facility.

Masks are required for all visitors and designated support persons entering the facility.

Please wear your mask at all times and properly.

Visitors should postpone visiting, if possible. If you choose to visit, please be advised of the potential exposure risk and limit visit to one (1) Resident and to exit the facility immediately after the visit.

In addition, Venta continues to implement the ongoing requirement of face masks and eye protection for our staff and daily rapid swabbing before starting work.

We take very seriously the responsibility to safeguard our most vulnerable from COVID.
